GETTING STARTED
The first step is applying for the Center's Signature Series. The Signature Series, "Stepping Up to New Opportunities," is designed to cover a real-life curriculum of business knowledge, taught by professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, entrepreneurs, etc. The series benefits individuals exploring opportunities for entrepreneurship, as well as those already in business who need to re-energize or refocus a current business.
The series focuses on a wide range of topics that enable the participant to consider all aspects of starting, expanding or rebooting a business. These topics include:
- market research
- brand and image
- legal structure
- human resource issues
- insurance and loss prevention
- external financing
- 5 c's of credit
- financial language and concepts
- technology planning
- managing communications
- building a business plan
- finding the money
Affordable classes are offered and tuition scholarships are available to meet all income-level needs. Evening classes meet one night per week over a 7-week span. Tuition for the program varies based on scholarship qualification.
The Center offers more than just a solid curriculum. Direction and guidance also are offered to you by a network of professional business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs, which help you start or expand your network of business advisors, mentors and peer support.
